It Is Easy To Create a Cage With Vivarium Designs

Originally, bearded dragons came from Australia. It makes a good and healthy pet. The best place to keep them is in a vivarium because as we all know beardies are reptiles, meaning they are cold blooded animals. The environment must be dry like a wood land and desert environments.

The most ideal place I am mentioning is a vivarium that is like a natural animal environment. An environment that they are used to live. An important reminder is to know that lizards when get cold will transfer to a warm environment and when get warm they need to be in a cold nvironment for them to maintain their body temperature.

Design a well-constructed vivarium like a natural environment and a mini ecosystem. Create a replica of the natural habitat. Place special ornaments and decorations that are also safe to your pets. It enables them to stay fit, healthy and have a longer life.  What are the things that you need to consider when you are planning to build a vivarium. Let’s discuss it one by one.

Bearded Dragon Vivarium Plans

When installing a vivarium, it must be large for your dragon around five ft. long, two ft. wide and two ft. high. It gives a wide space for the bearded dragon to move around and it offers good ventilation. The measurement is not too high and not too small. It prevents the bearded dragon from fracture when they tend to fall upon climbing the enclosure. Have a box like aquarium and let your imagination think wild like thinking of an ecosystem.

Lights and Temperature

During the day, the temperature must be 78 to 88 degrees Farenheight and on the evening 70 degrees Farenheight is ideal. Do not go over the recommended temperatures, it may affect the digestive processes of your pet. They will go likely to become sick.

You must take into account that a bearded dragon’s vivarium must be located where the area is not directly pointed to the sunlight. Simple to say, it must have a minimum amount of light. Be sure that you can control the amount of light entering the cage. Do not decide on an area that lights are constantly turned on like the dining area. It is now a suitable place because you have the lights there time to time you eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

When you take out your pet outside the vivarium, check first all the lights if they are turned on. Eliminate things that may cause harm and danger inside the vivarium.  If everything is checked, put your beardie slowly back to its place and allow it to take a rest without disruptions.

Another thing is to place a good functioning thermometer inside the vivarium where it cannot be reached or cannot be seen by your pets. Monitor the cage temperature all the time so that they will grow healthy and strong. Maintaining a standard temperature inside the vivarium will allow the pet to teach adulthood free from illnesses and diseases.
Sometimes, if you can see your dragon having dyspnea or the inability to breath, immediately reduce the temperature by just turning off the lights. Lights inside the vivarium contribute to the vivarium’s humidity. Mist the surroundings with cold water; make sure it’s clean and safe. Let your dragon drink water to revitalize its body from warm.

Floor of the Vivarium

If flooring is the topic then a substrate must be taken into account.  You can use reptile floors that are available in your local pet supplies stores.  These are like carpet that prevents your pet from being hurt. Reptile carpets cannot be eaten nor swallowed; it is made especially for your baby bearded dragons. For your old bearded dragons, of course they need more calcium so it is ideal to have a little bit of sand to support their calcium needs.

Landscaping

Make a landscape basing on a natural habitat that your pets can easily adapt. You can put branches for them to climb together with sand and rocks. Be sure that those branches will make a shade inside the cage. You can also put plants in minimum amount. Artificial caves are also recommended that can be bought on your pet supplies store.

Those are the few things that you need to consider if you are planning to build a vivarium for them.  Love your dragon the way you love yourself. Consider it as a creature of God that needs a natural environment to live and grow. Start creating your vivarium today and witness how your beardie grow free from illnesses and diseases.
